In today’s Sunday school lesson, taken from Psalms 146 and 150, we take a deeper look into songs of praise. These Psalms reflect Israel's worship, celebrating God as their Creator, sustainer, and faithful guardian. Unlike people who often look to leaders for guidance, the Psalms remind us to direct our trust and gratitude to God, who is everlasting and unchanging. Our key verse encourages this lifelong devotion: "I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long" (Psalm 146:2, NRSV).
