In today’s Sunday school lesson, we take a deeper look into Christ as the Atoning Sacrifice. Our lesson is drawn from 1 John 2:1-6 and 1 John 4:9-17, where we explore how false news can breed hostility and lead people astray. But how can we know the truth? The truth of Christ’s sacrifice reveals God’s love for us, and this love is meant to be reflected in how we love one another and the world. As the key verse reminds us, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).
