In today’s Sunday school lesson, we take a deeper look into how worship is restored through the rebuilding of the Temple in Ezra 3:1-6, 10-13. After the Israelites returned from exile, they began laying the foundation for the new Temple, and while some praised God with loud shouts of joy, others wept because the new Temple would not match the glory of the former. This teaches us that even in moments of loss and change, we can still honor God and celebrate His work in our lives. Our key verse, Ezra 3:11b, reminds us that worship is a response to God’s faithfulness, even in the midst of grief and rebuilding.
